  Worst experience I've ever had with a bank. Opened an account with my son, then a week later, we couldn't access it. Went to the branch and they said they just needed a copy of my son's social security card and everything would be fine. We scanned it and emailed it to them and heard no reply. Later that day we received a letter from Sun Trust saying out account had been closed along with a refund the $100 they required to open it (which is a lot to open an account for a 17 year-old). Again, no explanation. A few days later another letter arrives saying that "due to information they received after reviewing our account:" they felt it was in their best interests to terminate their relationship with us immediate? WHAT? We are talking about a free checking account for a high school student so he could have a place to get his pay checks direct deposited. The account had 1 cash deposit of $100 in it. It was the weirdest experience I've ever had with an institution. A human being never contacted us. They've never explained what they found. We took our business to Regions bank in the same shopping center and haven't had an issue since. Skip the Sun Trust. It' s a mess. Would have given zero stars but wasn't able.

  I love this bank it's the only bank I have gone to in almost 2 year's every single Wednesday to cash my checks! They all know me and always greet me with a warm smile and ask how I am! Highly recommend. I even pass the bank down in celebration just to come to this one.
